In the heart of Saulheim, you'll find a very special jewel: the Mühlbachaue. This landscape park, created just a few years ago through renaturation measures, is located right in the middle of the two old village centers and is both a park and a natural floodplain landscape. Structured by numerous water areas and tributaries of the Mühlbach, an unusually rich natural fauna and flora has developed here in a short time. Ducks, coots, grass snakes, newts, geese, frogs, wild bees, to name just a few examples, feel at home here. Numerous wild herbs have settled in the areas, where they can develop undisturbed. But the Mühlbachaue is also intended to be a local recreation area for Saulheim and its visitors. The people of Saulheim have quickly discovered and embraced "their" Mühlbachaue. For all visitors, young and old, there is something to experience and discover here in all seasons. Under sprawling trees, shady resting places are offered on numerous seats. Animals and plants can be observed up close in their natural habitat, allowing nature to be experienced firsthand. The paths are paved and invite you to stroll.
