September 26, 2025, Wasatch Trail

A high alpine route that rewards the climb with sweeping views of Bridal Veil Basin and the surrounding peaks. The trail is steep and rugged, but waterfalls, wildflowers, and open meadows make the effort worthwhile; it is a true mountain trail with classic San Juan scenery.

September 26, 2025, Bear Creek Trail

A meeting point where the forested Bear Creek Trail connects with the steeper Ballard climb. It’s a good spot to pause, refill energy, and decide whether to continue deeper into the canyon or push higher toward alpine views.

The Jud Wiebe Memorial Trail is a popular trail that gives great views of Telluride Ski Resort and the entire valley. It has some steep inclines, but is a short trail, so it is considered to be moderately challenging. The trail is named after a forest ranger who was a big part of the development of Telluride's trail system

The Westside Trail at Mount Crested Butte Ski Resort serves as an awesome flowy singletrack trail during the dry months. This is a really popular trail for mountain biking, trail running, and hiking, so you'll probably see others out on the trail. There are a bunch of other trails in the network of paths within the resort, so you can make a number of loops using this trail.

That's the purpose of the hike. A little bit of freshness it can't hurt.

From the top of these 365 feet, the spectacular Bridal Veil Falls are the highest of the Colorado waterfalls. You should know that this is also the name of one of the Niagara Falls.

The stunning falls rush high above the mountain town of Telluride. At the top of the box canyon you can see a solitary building: the power plant that produces hydroelectricity. The trail and road up to Bridalveil Falls can still be snow covered by the end of June or even July if it is a high snow year. From the parking lot below you can take a short walk to this view of the waterfall, including the impressive switchbacks that wind up the mountain.
