Very lovely animals! In March 2026, we only found goats (and sheep) and llamas. Unfortunately, we did not discover the pigs.

The Okouní Pond (roughly translated as "Perch Pond") is a small but very beautiful pond or small lake near Františkovy Lázně. The pond is a popular spot for birds, frogs, and dragonflies, especially in spring and summer. Carp, perch, and pike also live here—the pond is partly used for fishing. Reeds, water lilies, and rare wetland plants grow in the surrounding area.

The fish restaurant opened its season on February 2, 2024. Unfortunately, we left on February 1, 2024. So we could only admire the restaurant from the outside. But we will definitely come back here.

At the beginning we would like to briefly introduce the history of the house and the restaurant Rybářská bašta - Fisherman's Bastion. The first part of the building was built in 1909, the building was used for many purposes, such as a fishing association, scouts, gardener's house and as a back office boat rental on Swan Lake. In 1973 the then state consumer cooperative-Jednota built the second part of the building and opened a restaurant specializing in traditional Czech fish dishes. In July 1987 my dear mother, Mrs. Eva Pešlová, came here as a manager and waitress. After the revolution of 1989 she rented the restaurant on a long-term basis and bought it from the state in April 1993. In 2000 the house was renovated and received a new external appearance, which it retains to this day. Year 2000 was a fateful year for me. After five years of studying at the Hotel Management School in Mariánské Lázně, I joined my mother in July and became another member of the Fisherman's Bastion team. July 29, 2014 will forever be one of the saddest days of my life. Unfortunately, that was when my mother and my guests, the so beloved "Mrs. Eva", succumbed to cancer after ten years of courageous and optimistic struggle. So I became the new owner under sad circumstances. I try to continue the family tradition of running a restaurant as carefully, professionally and with love as my mother did. In order to improve our services, we would like to ask you to cooperate in compliance with the following guidelines: If you want to visit our restaurant with more than 4 people, please reserve in advance. If you arrive without a booking, your menu may wait a little longer than usual. In rainy weather there is no service on the terrace. Consider the age and condition of the furniture inside and on the terrace and do not connect or move the tables yourself. Please ask the service staff, we will be happy to help you. Meat and fish weights are always given raw, and upon request, staff will provide you with a list of allergens in the meals. Spring No. 6 – Glauber II – bubbles up in a wooden saloon in the Amerika forest park. It was drilled and is used for drinking cures. Its slightly laxative water has a pleasant taste. It has proven to be particularly effective in treating stomach and intestinal catarrhs. It has a similar but weaker effect as Glauber I. Drinking cures should generally be discussed with the spa doctor.
