The Ferdinandsbrunnen is the oldest documented spring in Marienbad — as early as the 16th century, under the reign of Ferdinand I, whose name it bears, attempts were made here to boil salt. The pretty colonnade from 1826–1827 is located in the lower part of the town, Úšovice, and is a rewarding destination for an afternoon walk. In the middle of the tranquil Poutnov, a district of Teplá, stands an old train station that today radiates above all else: plenty of charm and a little bit of adventure. The station building looks as if the station master just popped out for a coffee – albeit for several decades now. The windows gaze serenely at the passing trains, as if they wanted to say: „In the past, they all stopped here!“ The walls creak softly in the wind, and if you listen very closely, you might even think you can hear the echo of a station announcement from long-forgotten times.
