Its symbolic source lies at an altitude of 1,386 m above sea level. It is enclosed in a brick ring with inflow and outflow, and its stone-paved surroundings offer benches for relaxation. In 1968, a wall of rough rock was added, bearing the coats of arms of 26 important cities through which the Elbe flows on its way to the North Sea.

Labská bouda - Czech tourist shelter in the Giant Mountains, located at an altitude of 1,340 meters above sea level, above the upper edge of the Labský důl valley. The sources of the Elbe River are located 1 kilometer away (hence the name of the facility). It is located in the Karkonosze National Park. The origins of the shelter date back to 1830, when an enterprising woman, a certain die Blasse, built a small stand made of stones and bark in this place, where she sold goat cheese, milk and vodka. Later, the cottage was rebuilt to accommodate tourists. Its owners were families with the surnames Devátý and Šír from Rokytnice nad Jizerou. In the years 1878-1879, a real shelter was finally built - the mountain hut was built by Count Jan Harrach. In the next decade it was further expanded.
