Path to the smaller waterfall. When we were there in summer, it had very little water

Picturesque, but average for bicycles with panniers. You have to be ready to push and fetch bikes.

We managed this scenic route without a MTB and without an engine, with full luggage and sometimes pushing. The reward is the beautiful nature in the Kvačianska dolina. More information: https://slovakia.travel/de/taeler-prosiecka-und-kvacianska-dolina-berge-chocske-vrchy

Scenic route, but very difficult to drive with luggage, sometimes pushing. In the Choč Mountains. More beautiful than the main street. Water mills worth seeing. At the Rohac rocky outcrop, the highest point of a historic road with a stone cross from 1860, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the gorge.

Welcome to Velký Choč mountain range. Geologically it is a continuation of the Western Tatras. However, it’s charming with its own, unique beauty - it is a kind of mix of gentle slopes above and steep walls lower, a mix between the Beskidy and the Tatras. The range is a kind of an archipelago of mountains-summits, with very deep valleys between them, like Kvačanská (where you are now) or Prosiecká. Also, Velký Choč range is surrounded by ranges more popular among the tourists, like the Tatras, the Velká Fatra, the Lower Tatras. For this reason, this region was not so impacted by the tourism and it is still not as visited as the other places. The village of Huty looks quite like it looked like 100 years ago. Detour: Hidden from the world, in the heart of the valley (detour!, not on the route!) you can find an interesting relic - Oblazy water mills and water SAWmills. They were built in the 19th century and were owned and used by the local peasants; with the arrival of the electricity they came out of use and gradually decayed until the 80-ies when they were completely reconstructed to what we can see today - you can visit them from the outside and also enter inside and see the mill work, see how the flour would once be produced etc. Plus the stream and the forest, it’s a charming place. Remember it will cost you some walking and extra time.
