Bring water and a head cover. This route is flat and fairly straight; easy for beginner runners or a swift walk.

Manasota Beach is just off the side of the Venetian Waterway Trail. The beach is more of a grassy area right on the banks of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway.

June 18, 2024, Myakka River

Pass over the Myakka River, branching at the Hardee-Manatee county line and flowing all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. Since this river is very underdeveloped, it is a fantastic opportunity to spot untouched wildlife.

The Old Miakka School House is a short but sweet historical stop. Here you can find the almost 100-year-old school house and read up on its history posted on a gold and green plaque right outside the building.
