If you cycle from the Steenwijk-Beukers canal, you will have meadows on your right, while after the J.v.Nassauweg you will see new nature developing on your left. If you cycle straight on at the Kooiweg, you will see a large decoy on your left. In my youth they called it the largest duck decoy in Europe. Further on you will cycle along the Gieterse Meer. The only lake in Weerribben-Wieden that has developed naturally.

The cycle path between Wanneperveen and Giethoorn takes you through a beautiful part of Wieden. Be careful at the bridge, because I advise anyone without steering skills to get off.

The paths lead you along quiet canals, vast reed fields and marshes, where you can admire the local flora and fauna, including water birds and perhaps even a curious heron.
