February 14, 2026, Het Verzetsmonument voor Terbregge

The Resistance Monument for Terbregge consists of five stones from a quarry in Sweden. The monument's symbolism lies in the footprints carved into the large stone; the imprints of people who left their mark on Terbregge. Sculptor Hans Leutscher placed a bronze plaque on one of the four stones bearing the portraits of resistance fighters N.J. van der Valk, A. van den Bos, and D. van der Kooij. Three blank stones commemorate unknown heroes. The monument offers an opportunity to commemorate the horrors of the war and the role of the three resistance fighters. It also serves as a place of reflection on senseless violence. The monument was unveiled in April 2000, in time for the Remembrance Day celebrations on May 4th. This monument was erected in memory of three resistance fighters: Abraham van den Bos, Dirk van der Kooij, and Nicolaas van der Valk. One of them was shot by the Germans, another died in Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. The third survived World War II. Text on the monument: And we follow the course of their perseverance. Schoonhoven Town Hall, located on the harbor, is one of the city's most famous monuments. Built in 1452 in the Gothic style, it features a beautiful stepped gable and a striking bell tower. In the 18th century, it was given an ornate rococo façade with sculptures by Hendrik de Keyser. Inside, you'll find old council chambers, historic fireplaces, and a carillon that still plays. The building is now primarily used for ceremonial functions and weddings and is a symbol of Schoonhoven's rich silver history.

The “Haven” of Schoonhoven is the city's historic waterfront: a street along the river where the Voorhaven and Scheepmakershaven meet.

September 17, 2025, Sint Janskerk Gouda

The Sint Janskerk (German: Sankt-Johannes-Kirche) in Gouda, Netherlands, is a Gothic, five-aisled cruciform basilica dedicated to John the Baptist, the patron saint of Gouda. At 123 m long, the church is the longest church in the Netherlands. The western third is built predominantly of brick, the eastern two-thirds predominantly of tuff the size of bricks. Decorations and many window frames are made of ashlar. The Sint Janskerk is especially known for its Gouda stained glass windows (Dutch: de Goudse glazen). About half of all surviving 16th-century stained glass windows in the Netherlands are said to be located here.[1] The most famous Dutch stained glass artists of their time, Dirck Crabeth and his brother Wouter Crabeth, who was 15 years younger, created ten and four of the stained glass windows, respectively, between 1555 and 1577.
