I planned on doing an out and back on the trail but due to the conditions opted to take the roads back much of the way instead. I’m glad I did. While I still had to open a few gates it was many fewer and the roads had far fewer sand traps and no sections where the horse’s hooves made a 50 foot long crater field. Some of the road was more of a double track and grassed but it was still great and the views were great too.

A four mile loop from the parking lot. A good chance to see if your bike is set up right for the conditions. Best 4 miles I did that day, most all of the trail had pea gravel that wasn’t as sticky as the sandy bits on the main trail.
