The Lac de Mondély is a picturesque reservoir in the French department of Ariège, about 10 km from Mas-d'Azil. With its emerald green color and wooded shores, it is a popular destination for walks, picnics, and nature observation. A circular trail about 8 km long leads around the lake and is well-suited for a leisurely hike. Fishing is permitted (with a valid fishing license). However, swimming has been prohibited since 2023. There are parking spaces on site and a snack bar during the season.

Saint-Girons is a charming small town at the foot of the Pyrenees in the Ariège department in the south of France. It is considered the gateway to the wild and original landscapes of Couserans. The town is particularly known for its lively weekly market, its cozy alleys, and its relaxed atmosphere. Hikers and nature lovers appreciate Saint-Girons as an ideal starting point for tours in the surrounding mountains. The mix of French flair, history, and nature makes the town a worthwhile destination.

A magnificent spot with the road winding under the rock, running alongside a partially underground stream. It's both breathtaking and peaceful. Plus, there's a starting point for a short walk; I did the beginning and it was lovely: I'd love to come back and do a longer section!

Beautiful cave and at the northern exit there is even a waterfall and another picnic area (in the shade, more for summer, in winter we prefer to picnic at the southern exit!)

A place full of charm: a unique cave with the road passing under the rock: you have to go through it, and go through it again!

Best place for rainy days. Water & electricity also space for tents. During the day often ppl come around, at 20:30 is always an old ppl sports club, but they are totally fine with me sleeping there. In the beginning of September a Roma camp was at the parking lot down the road, but had no problems and they are super chilled. So no worries & have a good sleep
