July 13, 2025, Beata's Bench – The Girl from Albatros

Beata's bench was unveiled in August 2017 in front of the famous "Albatros" restaurant (built in 1962 according to a design by Henryk Gomółka). The bronze statue, depicting the heroine of Janusz Laskowski's song "Beata," was created by sculptor Michał Selerowski. The artist posed for the artist: Barbara Bujnowska, winner of the "Gazeta Współczesna" poll, who was chosen by the residents of the Podlaskie Voivodeship to succeed the legendary Beata. The poll was organized by "Gazeta Współczesna" in 2015, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the song's composition. The bench on which Beata sits recalls the story of a beautiful love that unfolded in Augustów over 50 years ago and resonated at parties across Poland for many years. The Beata bench project was implemented with the support and involvement of many institutions, including the initiator and media partner "Gazeta Współczesna" and sponsors, including the Augustów Consumer Cooperative "Społem", the British American Tobacco factory in Augustów, and the MPPB J.W. Ślepsk.

Studzieniczna – Parish of Our Lady of the Scapular The first historical mention of Studzieniczna dates back to 1740 and is connected with the cult of the image of Our Lady. The first hermit is anonymous. A more famous figure is Wincenty Morawski, who erected the first wooden chapel around 1770. The current Church was built in 1847. In 1872, the current Chapel of Our Lady was built on 64 oak piles. Initially, the parish belonged to the parish in Szczebrze. In 1873, the Bishop of Sejny, Bishop Piotr Paweł Wierzbowski, established it as an independent parish. On September 17, 1995, the act of coronation of the image of Our Lady of Studzieniczna, Mother of the Church, took place. The act of coronation was performed by Cardinal Józef Glemp – Primate of Poland, with the participation of Archbishop Józef Kowalczyk – Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Edmund Piszcz – Metropolitan of Warmia, Bishop Juliusz Paec – Bishop of Łomża, Bishop Juozas Żemartis of Mariampol, Bishop Wojciech Ziemba – Bishop of Ełk and Bishop Edward Samsel – Auxiliary Bishop of Ełk. As Jacek Laskowski sang "Seven Girls from Albatross You are the Only One". The Albatros Restaurant is still in operation, and Beata from the song sits on a bench nearby.

The bench is located next to the Albatros restaurant. The figure represents the heroine of Janusz Laskowski's song "BEATA".

The old Augustów shipping port. Tourist cruises depart from there. The port building itself is very old. There is a large brick chimney above the building. Nice views.
