The Guzianka Lock is located between the lake Bełdany and lake Guzianka Mała. It was put into operation in 1900, that is over a hundred years ago, and is still operating today. The chamber is 44 m long, the gate is 7.5 m wide, and the water level difference is about 2 m. The lock gates are opened with an electric drive. The Guzianka Lock is a very important communication junction on the route of the Great Masurian Lakes. It is a water connection between the city of Ruciane-Nida and Lake Nidzkie with the rest of the navigable route. During the season, several hundred yachts, motorboats, kayaks and other floating objects are crossed here every day. Ships of the white fleet also use it.

Every year the number of lovers of relaxation on Masurian lakes increases, which is why it is so important to care for the infrastructure and development of the region's waterways. From June 25 - the day when the Guzianka II lock was opened to tourist traffic, 1000 boats were successfully crossed with the help of the new lock.

Since its inception, the State Water Holding Polish Waters has been investing in a modern and functional hydrotechnical infrastructure, also used by tourists all over the country. An example of such a facility is the new Guzianka II lock, officially opened today, in Ruciane-Nida, connecting the Guzianka Mała and Bełdany lakes.
