The seed extraction plant in Ruciane-Nida was built in the years 1890-1892. The first owner was Richard Anders (his grave has survived to this day in the cemetery in Ruciane-Nida). It was the largest facility of its kind in East Prussia. Cones were transported here not only from all of Prussia, but also from Poland and Russia. The extraction plant consists of a complex of historic buildings, which includes, among other things, a huge warehouse that can hold 180 tons of cones at a time. In 2006, the extraction plant was modernized.
