Falköping is not a typical tourist destination like Stockholm or Gothenburg, but that is precisely what makes it so appealing – especially because of its blend of ancient history, unusual landscapes, and tranquil nature.

Small picnic area along the boardwalk. There are wooden benches, tables and calm forest atmosphere all around. Don't forget to bring a snack.

A gentle creek winding through the woods, surrounded by green moss. Depending on the season, the ground can be a bit damp – but that’s part of the charm.

One of Sweden's few cathedrals, built in the Gothic style in the 13th century, the interior is simply decorated and sublime in its Gothic architecture. There is a lot to discover at the pulpit and the grave monument of Erik Soop in the left aisle. Colonel Soop was very successful in the Thirty Years' War and thus received the privilege of being buried in the cathedral by the king and the parish. His wife only wanted the best for her husband and herself and commissioned the imposing monument in Holland. She is also depicted on the tombstone, but is not buried there. Since women were always buried with their husbands in the 17th century, but nothing is known of their whereabouts, the suspicion arises that they had secret affairs or fell victim to a crime. Also worth seeing: the richly decorated pulpit and the organ.

One of the oldest Swedish Cathedrals. The Gothic Style Building was built in the 13th century. But it had several facelifts during the centuries.
