⚓️🛳️ The Geeste harbor (or more precisely: the mouth of the Geeste River where it flows into the Weser) in Bremerhaven is the historical heart of the city and the central transition between the old harbor basins and the river. It is closely linked to the city's founding, its emigration history, and today houses the Havenwelten (Harbor Worlds) with its maritime attractions.

⚓️🚲 The fishing port double lock in Bremerhaven is a monumental structure and a central crossing for vehicles and pedestrians between the fishing port and the outer Weser region. It is closely linked to the maritime economy and the protection of the inner harbor basins from the tides.

A very nice section in Bremerhaven to look at the harbor and the buildings at the harbor.

Unfortunately, after leaving Lueplate, you can no longer drive north past the dike on the Weser side. There is a well-maintained path on the Weser side, but unfortunately it's locked. The view behind the dike is somewhat less pleasant, so you'll have to climb the dike every now and then to enjoy the view of the Weser marsh.
