Ascent to Coll de Sa Batalla from Caimari

Finest asphalt, beautiful serpentines and little traffic. Most beautiful departure of the whole island.

Cúber Reservoir

Highlight • Lake

The reservoir is clearly one of the highlights of the area. The sea is a different color in every weather. The goat herds are sometimes quite shy, and you should keep enough distance.

Pass of Honor

Highlight • Mountain Pass

Nice biting climb from Bunyola towards Alaro.
However, the asphalt is poor, so I recommend choosing the direction from Bunyola to Orient for the climb. The descent from Orient to Alaro is then much easier and safer!

Barranc de Biniaraix Stone Path

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Paved pilgrim way. Even if you prefer narrow, natural paths is the Barranc de Biniaraix highly recommended. The mountain panorama is worth it.

Alaró Castle

Highlight • Castle

The Castell d'Alaró is not only famous as a historical place, but also as the destination of the most beautiful hiking routes in Mallorca. The ascent takes you over easy to moderately difficult routes through the breathtaking Tramuntana mountains. On the 822 meter high castle you can enjoy a panoramic view as far as Palma.

October 5, 2023, Cúber Reservoir

The area around the Cúber is a fenced nature reserve. You can park your car right at the beginning of the reservoir. There is another parking lot 200 meters up the road. Sheep, cows and donkeys live near the water and Mallorca's wild goats crawl on the mountain slopes. The view over the lake and the walls of the Tramuntana giants is uniquely beautiful.

March 29, 2023, Cúber Reservoir

If you want to reach/leave the reservoir by bus, you should do some research beforehand, the buses only run 1/2 times a day in each direction in the summer months. Stops are called Cúber 1 and Cúber 2 depending on the direction. It is a super nice place to hike or stay!!!

The reservoir and the mountains conjure up a great panorama. The Cúber was flooded in 1972. When the water level is low, you can still see the remains of the walls of the farm that used to be here.

The gorge or often also called canyon is absolutely impressive and worth seeing. Via the GR221 you can hike up to the Cuber reservoir in about 3 hours (signposted with 4.5 hours).

Very nice climb from Bunyola. The road surface will be completely renewed over 18 km at the beginning of 2026. Very nice descent to Alaro. Avoid on weekends in good weather, as the locals drive here in masses with their cars for picnics.

From both sides a great ascent as well as descent. The road is very nicely maintained, there are many hairpin bends and the road is mostly empty (especially in early spring). At the top, you can always linger in the small restaurant.
