I grew up there, long before the observatory and the archaeological works at the Castle. When we were little, it seemed to us that the idea that there was a castle behind the church was a chimera. When it was brought to light, it seemed like magic.

The church of Sant Pau de Pinós is located in the municipality of Santa Maria de Merlès. The church, originally built in Romanesque style, has been renovated several times, altering its appearance quite a bit. Next to the church there is a viewpoint with beautiful views of the area.

The Romanesque bridge of Santa Maria de Merlès is a medieval construction that crosses the waters of the river stream of the Riera de Merlès. The setting around the bridge is truly idyllic and invites you to take a break, enjoy the sound of the water and, if it's hot, cool off in its natural pools.
