Before the Reformation, the previous church burned down. It was demolished in 1783 and the new baroque village church was built between 1785 and 1788. The ceremonial inauguration took place on the 1st of Advent 1786. In 1990, the interest group for the preservation of the village church was founded in the village. In 2008 the church received recognition for creating habitat for jackdaws and bats.
