The Mirador de Santa Catalina is a truly spectacular viewpoint about 600m above the Desfiladero de la Hermida, the spectacular gorge in the east of the Picos de Europa. The viewpoint can be reached via the Senda Mitológica, for example as a detour from the Ruta de las Agueras - or via a narrow asphalt road. Due to access for cars and motorcycles, it can sometimes be a bit crowded here.

I went first thing in the morning and loved watching the sunrise. The route is manageable, although the descent is a bit long due to the curves and loose stones.

A small town located in the heart of the Picos de Europa National Park. One of the highlights of Tresviso is its famous Queso Picón Bejes-Tresviso, a creamy blue cheese.

It is worth getting here to have some beautiful views of the Deva river valley. In the town of Cicera you must take the detour along the north path that leads to the hermitage of Santa Catalina and from there continue a few more meters, highly recommended!

The Corral de los Moros used to be a strategic and defensive point in the area that fortunately today we can visit and appreciate the wonderful views it offers. Very close to here and by the way is the recreational area with specimens of ancient chestnut trees.
