The entire promenade at Platja del Callao is designated as a public beach area and offers benches, shaded spots, and free relaxation areas. Additionally, there is a public toilet on the beach section. Everywhere you look, you'll see the mega cute, small monk parakeets. This is a naturalized parrot species. You see them very often in and around Barcelona, in parks, avenues, and beach promenades. For locals, they are a nuisance, but for tourists, the lively, green splashes of color are very cute to observe.

On the Passeig Marítim del Port de Mataró, in the upper part, there is a stretch that has gained quite a bit of life lately. Here is Milbana, a relatively recent establishment (started in 2021) with a very clear proposal: brunch, breakfasts, and snacks with an extensive menu, a mix of sweet and savory, and a strong focus on visual products (pancakes, bowls, crepes, etc.). It has become fashionable more for its concept and atmosphere than for traditional cuisine, and it works especially well for stopping without haste. Interesting point: they have quite well-made smoothies and natural juices, which fit perfectly if you come rolling and want something light before continuing. Good place for a break that is more social than sporting, to recharge energy and continue the route.

Opened in 1999 as an extension of the original Parc Central designed by Nicolau Rubió i Tudurí in 1943, this spacious and peaceful urban park is ideal for a break en route. It features drinking fountains, shaded benches, and green areas for resting. It's a good place to refill your water bottle and recover. It's easily accessible by bike, with wide, paved paths. It houses the Torre Montcada (a modernist house). A recommended stop on routes through Mataró or connecting with the coast.
