Tips from the Community

We set out with the hope of ascending to the summit of Tresmares, where the Hijar-Ebro River begins and flows into the Mediterranean, the Pisuerga River (a tributary of the Duero River) flows into the Atlantic, and the Nansa River flows into the Cantabrian Sea. But a thick, damp fog covering the landscape forced us to give up and head back down the same way we came up. The road is partially covered by a bike lane and very little traffic. A steady climb of around 10%. Absolutely recommended. A few years ago, the Alto Campoo pass was the final stage of La Vuelta a España.

The amount of water this river carries is always surprising.

Puente Mayor over the Pisuerga River is of medieval origin. We can see the small islands in the river and the castle hill.

Ruins of the Castillo de Aguilar located on top of a strategic hill, watching over the beautiful biscuit town. The keep dates from the 9th and 10th centuries, while most of the walls are from the 14th and 15th centuries. Next to the Romanesque church of Santa Cecilia, on the same hill, it creates an impressive photographic image.

Small town in the province of Palencia, in the beautiful region of the Montaña Palencia. We find the Romanesque church of San Bartolomé.

This small town is one of the highest in the province. It has a beautiful Romanesque church called San Martín Obispo and beautiful narrow streets to visit.

Menhir 3.78 meters high located in the area of La Llaneda, hence its name, although it was demolished for a long time and located on a farm about 200 meters from the original point.
