Mutzig combines military history with Alsatian charm. Its iconic Fort Feste Kaiser Wilhelm II, built by the German Empire between 1893 and 1918, was one of the largest European fortifications of its time. The town center also features beautiful traditional houses and the Rohan Castle, adding to the town's historical character.

Besides the city gate, another highlight in the rather dreary city.

The Château des Rohans is a 17th-century baroque chateau built on the site of a 13th-century building destroyed by the Swedes in the Thirty Years' War. Less well known than its neighbors, the Rohan Castle in Saverne and the Palais Rohan in Strasbourg, it served the four prince-bishops and later cardinals of the Rohan family for 86 years (1704-1790). The neo-Gothic church, the work of Pastor Hasselmann, was built in 1879-1880. It was financed by the collections made between 1856 and 1876. The church was built according to the plans of the architect Karl Winkler and resembles a three-aisled basilica with a transept and a pentagonal choir in the 13th century Gothic style. The interior of the church is noteworthy for its uniform neo-Gothic furniture. It was essentially designed in the Klem workshops in Colmar between 1884 and 1900. As here in Still, the Way of the Cross usually leads up the mountain or hill (sometimes also referred to as "Kalverienberg" in memory of Golgotha, where Jesus Christ was crucified) with the - nowadays mostly 14 - stations along. Early medieval forerunners of the Ways of the Cross had only 7 stations and were sometimes also referred to as the "walk to the seven footfalls". In some places, after the fourteenth station, the burial of Jesus, there is another station: the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This additional Station of the Cross broadens the view from Good Friday towards the Easter perspective of hope: overcoming death and suffering.
