The church was built between 1320 and 1347 on the remains of a Romanesque predecessor dating from 705, which was destroyed by fire in 1287.[2] In 1718, the Gothic structure was remodeled. During this renovation, the vaults were replaced with a flat ceiling, and the arches between the nave and side aisles were altered. In 1725, the tower was also remodeled and heightened with a Baroque addition. In 1819, the Chapel of the Fourteen Holy Helpers was built on the south side. At the end of the 19th century, a Neo-Gothic sacristy was added to the south side of the church. In 1959, several frescoes were discovered and restored during renovations. The church underwent its last major renovation and interior repainting in 1993/94. Source: Wikipedia
