Located in the Aisne region, Septmonts Castle was originally the country residence of the bishops of Soissons. The Cathedrale was badly damaged in WWI and bullet holes can still be found on the outside facade. Overall it appears to have been less restored than other structures of this magnitude and somewhat lacks refined architectural splendor, although its size is imposing.
