The first church was built in 1696 when "le Pratz de Megève" was a hat shop in Megève. During the reign of the Dukes of Savoy, the parishioners rebuilt the church, bell tower, and presbytery, destroyed during the Revolution, in the early 19th century. In the shape of a Latin cross and in the neo-Gothic style, the church offers no particular architectural interest. In 1606, François de Sales, during a pastoral visit, noted that the chapel, dedicated to Saints Bernart and Magdeleine, was "roofed and decorated." The chapel was better served following a donation from the Clément-Berthet family. [1] A chapel dating from 1643 was enlarged in 1696 into a church in the hamlet of Pratz, which belonged to the parish of Megève. Following the occupation by French revolutionary troops, the parish became independent[1] and a new church was built on August 4, 1803. The current church replaced the original building in 1881, with a pseudo-Romanesque style. The parishioners built the church, bell tower, and presbytery, which they were responsible for maintaining and carrying out major renovations. The interior was renovated between 1950 and 1955.

The church is beautiful from the outside, but the square in which it is located is even more so.
