The trail leads through extensive vineyards. In Lussolt-sur-Loire, you can enjoy typical local food at the small Esperuette restaurant right along the trail. There are many small, living and dead, old wineries nearby. A must-see is the Château Le Clos Luce, where Leonardo da Vinci spent the last three years of his life. A beautiful tribute to his discoveries and achievements.

Great view of the castle. Unfortunately it is difficult to get seats in the bar.

A detour that is worth it because you have to climb the hill, but it is worth it

This railway bridge, accessible to pedestrians and cyclists, is an icon of the Touraine Loire. Every day, trains running from Paris Austerlitz station go to Tours. Sylvain Tesson himself crossed it as part of his story “On the Black Paths”.

Small bridge reserved for pedestrians and cyclists. Necessary at one time, less so today because the Wilson Bridge is now also car-free
