A very beautiful house in Joinville le pont, surely one of the guinguettes built at the creation of the station at the end of the 19th century.

The path to the island of beauty is an old arm of the Marne which has been filled in. Gravelled, it is quite passable by bike… some pretty villas to discover and we pass under the Nogent bridge….

The municipality had the good idea to prohibit the roadway to car traffic, and as there is a parallel pedestrian promenade, bicycles are quiet.

Very friendly but it can get crowded especially when the weather is nice. I went there at the end of February 2022 and it seems that the road is closed to motorized vehicles on Sundays which can make bike rides easier and more pleasant, thus avoiding either the proximity of cars on the road or slaloming on the wide sidewalk . Good to know: the path below the road just on the edge of the Marne is prohibited for cycling.

Yvette Horner walk, with beautiful house. At the playground, esplanade to sit facing the Marne facing the afternoon sun 👌🏻🌞
