Don't miss the bicycle museum in Tournus, it is located at the top of the street when leaving the blue path. You will find the entire history of the bicycle there, from the first one (the draisine in 1817) as well as others. The museum staff are passionate volunteers, very welcoming, and who tell you the history of the bicycles. The little bonus after visiting the museum, you can try out unusual old bicycles. I highly recommend it. Nathalie.

The area, located directly on the riverbank, is officially designated as a rest stop and equipped with picnic tables. Beautiful view of the idyllic river landscape of the Saône, a fish-rich, calmly flowing river and one of the largest tributaries of the Rhône.

The Abbey Church of Saint-Philibert in Tournus is one of the most important examples of early Romanesque architecture in Central Europe. The mighty west facade, with its embrasures and massive walls, is reminiscent of a medieval fortress. The nave features unique, transversely running barrel vaults, which create an extraordinary play of light inside. An ancient crypt lies beneath the choir, while the upper church, dedicated to Saint Michael, is located above the narthex.

Low-traffic bridge, further on you can cycle under both the railway line and the national road, then a bridge leads over the motorway towards Uchizy. Nice shortcut.
