The Rocalinaud Rock, also called the "Moon Rock," is a mass of sand formed by wind, rain, and humans over more than a million years. This rock is an unusual and enigmatic site, ideally located in the heart of a vineyard, east of the village of Beaumes-de-Venise. It is the remains of an underwater dune formed during the Miocene. Rocalinaud bears the shape of a strange, hooked beak.

I passed here in a South => North direction. The view is exceptional, the climb is worth it. Be careful, however, the climb is on a path with exposed rocks that are very slippery in wet weather. If you continue the walk, a slightly technical rocky passage awaits you. You might even think that the path ends, but once you get past the difficulty, a superb single track descending into the forest awaits you, a guaranteed speed effect for trail runners! ;)

The Dentelles Sarrasines trail is steep and quite technical. Trail shoes or hiking boots are required for the rocky terrain. An unforgettable experience.
