In Belum, the Evangelical Lutheran St. Vitus Church is located in the (Cuxhaven district). The church is a historic fieldstone building from around 1200. The striking tower of the listed building serves as a landmark for shipping. The church has a historic core. The church is situated in the middle of an old churchyard on a terp and marks the origin of the village of Belum, mentioned around 1150. The rear area of the church interior has been redesigned into a cozy community room. The organ integrates historical facade pipes from the 16th century. The church belongs to the "Am Dobrock" parish community in the Cuxhaven-Hadeln church district. A great cycling and hiking route passes by it. It cannot be missed from the road. An information board is located at a rest bench.

It doesn't go any further here, you stand in front of a closed gate. To the right, a dirt path branches off, which I couldn't take because I had my bike trailer with me.

When walking around the lake, you can see both the Elbe and the lake with the holiday park. The path leads between the Natureum and the lake back to the main road to the barrier or to Neuhaus.
