January 17, 2024, Capitelles du Mas d'Escattes

A must see to complete the visit to the capitelles of Mas d'Escattes. These two beautiful, superbly restored buildings are located a few dozen meters from each other on the PR which winds between the Chemin de Font Aubarne to the west and the wide forest track to the east. This PR is not materialized on the map used by Komoot but does exist on OpenStreetMap for example.

Very nice area for hiking. To the north there is a restricted military area.

On this road was filmed the film "The Wages of Fear". It is a beautiful track without any difficulty offering a beautiful view of the Gardon and Mont Ventoux
