Restaurant located under the peak of Monte Generoso. It can be reached on foot via easy paths located on both the Italian and Swiss sides, or easily reached via the rack railway that leaves from Capolago.

Nice route, the climb from Castel San Pietro towards Alpe di Caivano is steep, on a cobbled road with bumpy sections, difficult without an EMTB. The descent is steep and could be risky due to the potholes. From Alpe di Caivano it is better to go through Generoso to Osteria La Peonia and then go down to Mendrisio.

The chapel of Santa Margherita in campo is located a stone's throw from the Italian border in the open countryside. It probably belonged to the monasteries of Como along with other assets. It has been documented since 1437, but almost certainly dates back to the Romanesque era (10th-12th century)
