From this hiking parking lot, located directly on the connecting road from Großensee to Dankmarshausen, you can explore the Rhäden - a nature reserve - with its observation stations on an almost 8 km circular trail. The nature reserve is a resting place for migratory birds in spring and autumn. At the same time, you also have a great view of the Monte Kali from here.

The church once belonged to a castle complex. In the choir, parts from the 15th century have been preserved. A late Gothic crucifix hangs above the triumphal arch. After a fire in 1588, the nave was rebuilt. The two lower galleries date from around 1600. The space for the upper gallery was increased in the 18th century. The "Bible in Pictures" by Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld provided the templates for the gallery painting from the 19th century. The stone pulpit is a work of the Renaissance. It bears reliefs of the Evangelists and the Trinity. The sounding board is a Baroque work, as are the lavishly decorated lectern and the organ front.
