The Red Train railway serves the station of Axat, a railway stop on the former Carcassonne to Rivesaltes line, in the Aude department. Opened in 1904 by the Compagnie des chemins de fer du Midi, it now hosts the famous Train of the Cathar Country and Fenouillèdes. This tourist train with its emblematic red carriages winds through gorges, viaducts, and spectacular landscapes of the upper Aude valley.

Church is currently closed as work is being done on the porch. Walks around this area are still great but sad not to be able to visit the Church. No online info about this either.

The gorges are really beautiful but there is a lot of traffic and above all the surface is horrible. It has started to be redone and its renovation should continue shortly (2021).
